The high cost of malaria prevention.

Today Steve and I picked up Malarone for our RTW trip. $1240! What the ... !!!

I mistakenly believed that Malarone costs $1 per day ... it's was more like $7.

Did I get ripped off by CVS or is this really what it costs? Seems craaaaazy to me.

Nope - there was no coverage for any of the travel vaccines. Crazy right!?? If I were to get malaria, they would cover my medication and hospitalization then though. Makes no sense!

Sounds incredable to me. I would say ripped off, but I don't understand USA medical things, I thought you all had medical insurance to cover all that stuff. When I was taking malaria protection many years ago I got my tablets from my Doctor and only paid a prescription fee plus his charge ofcause. How I hated taking those tablets!
Still you will know your very well protected! If you go to Nepal or Africa you will need them and many other countries.
Excitment must be building as the trip gets closer. Lucky you, anticipation is at least part of the fun.
