A TravBuddy anniversary.

It was exactly 20 years ago today that my best friend Lisa and I set off on a PanAm jet that would take us to the bright lights of New York, and then on to Europe. Our first backpacking trip! It was a dream come true for those two young girls. We spent 9 weeks and had a budget of $20 per day. My, how things have changed since then.

Since 1988, we have managed to travel together at least once per year, and usually more often than that. It is a rare thing to find that perfect travel buddy, and I consider myself very, very lucky. All these countries, all this time, and we have never had an argument or disagreed on a destination. It is truly the perfect travel partnership.

THANK YOU, LISA, FOR 20 GREAT YEARS OF TRAVEL AND FRIENDSHIP.  MAY WE ENJOY 20 -- wait, make that 40 --  MORE YEARS OF ADVENTURE!
