We were so happy to have stayed the night at the wonderful Liard River Hot Springs, but the drive the next day was long.  We did spy 3 bears though, which made it exciting.

Mukluk Annie's in Teslin offers free RV parking.  They have different deals with their famous Salmon Bake Dinner (free RV wash and houseboat ride if buy dinner) and breakfast (free RV wash).  The camping and use of the water and sani-station are free.  Of course we had to support such a wonderful RV-friendly place and breakfast there cost far more than simple camping- but it was fun and the people nearby were fun, offering us part of their enormous fresh cinnamon roll from earlier in the day.

We're currently connected to internet at the Canadian Tire in Whitehorse and may head on after stocking with food, gas, Canadian money, propane, etc.  We're getting ready for our great run North.

The Yukon is beautiful and the people very nice.  We're loving our trip!

Note from 8.17.09:  Sadly Mukluk Annie's remains closed after the 2008 season, confirmed by 2009 RV'ers online.  Here's my blog talking with Mukluk Chuck just after their retirement in August 2008:

Here's an article about this classic place.  Interesting that they were retiring to Arizona:

Happy Birthday to Charles!!! Hope July 17th finds you partying at the Artic Circle in Inuvik! Your trip sounds like such fun - love hearing about all the wildlife and the interesting things you do, like hot tubs and ziplines. Who's baking the Birthday Cake? We're looking forward to talking with y'all when you're back in communication space. Love to all, Mom

So, the Alaska highway isn't in Alaska?!? We just rented the movie "Into the Wild" - amazing story. Sad ending. Good movie. Bet the book is better. We have a contract on our house! $221k (we wanted $230!) so disappointing but prices falling fast - glad to get out while we can. And we almost have a backup offer (still negotiating) . . . we hope to be closed by 7/31 - yippee!!! Grading of backyard starts Thurs (we've had lots of rain). Love the pics of the bears and bison - did you scream when you saw them? Love the "scream & run" joke - some people just have no sense of humor! K & H, on the otherhand, think the words diaper, bottom and butt are the funniest words ever - sigh. Ya'll have fun!
