More balloon excitement at the Fiesta!

We were ready this morning! In less than a minute from the yell of "BALLOONS!" we were dressed and out the door! Coming from all directions, we saw about 75 hot air balloons from the roof of Ciao Baby. With blanket wrapped around us and hot chocolate and coffee in hand, we enjoyed the sunny morning. But no balloons blew directly over us.
So we hopped on our bikes and pedaled to the Balloon Park (thanks to Charlie from Seattle fixing all our bikes!).
Just one beautiful balloon was still on the field and we walked over- need any help crewing? Why yes! And what a thrill! The Independence pilot, Robert Raper, and crew were extremely nice. A small hole in the balloon needed repair before tomorrow, so they allowed us to pitch in on deflatingn and reacking the balloon.
They gave us each a balloon card and told us they'll be at M-2 tomorrow, if we were around to help! We cannot wait! It is opening ceremony tomorrow and we will be up early for certain.
Before we left they took a picture of us with the pilot. Then we walked back across the empty field to our bikes in the brilliant sunshine on an early morning and headed back to the camping area. Maybe we'll feel like old hands by Monday!
There's a potluck dinner tonight for our group and we anticipate more fun folks arriving. It's so nice to just rest and socialize for awhile.
