Lazy Daze Gathering at Fort Stevens State Park

How lucky are we that we were invited by some wonderful online friends to attend the NW get-together of owners of Lazy Daze RV's?! We couldn't believe our good fortune that the location and the timing coincided with our journey.
So a few days ago I reserved the LAST campsite available in Oregon's largest state park, of nearly 500 campsites! Then another Lazy Daze rig couldn't make it and we get to stay in their site, rather than our reserved site far away. We lost one night's fees, but we're happy to be here. We're right in Party Central now!
It is a happy, welcoming fun group with many rigs. I'd bet there are 30 Lazy Daze's here! Given there are only 200 Lazy Dazes built each year, that is a terrific number.
We enjoyed an amazing finger-food buffet tonight- our thoughtful friends volunteered to contribute 2 dishes tonight so that we didn't have to worry about it. How nice it that?! It is a fortunate thing too, because we need to visit a store tomorrow - otherwise I think rice would be our only dish!
The kids enjoy talking with people other than Mom and we've already met two teachers in the group who have given the kids assignments for tomorrow's history jaunt.
There are many activities and tours going on around here and we'll keep busy- we want to see the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park first. Astoria looked like a delightful town upon driving through it this evening. And we're right on the Oregon Coast! So much fun, so little time!
