The Magic of Maui- in Remembrance of Sue

Newport Beach Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I am heading to Maui with my second family to spread the ashes of my mother's best friend, my second mother and a woman who made a tremendous impact on all of our lives. Her widow of 34 years Jack, Jake (son), Kelly (daughter), Damien and Sue's grand daughter Kaitlyn, Bob and I will be staying in Kihei, Hi. We will golf, fish, snorkel, swim, eat, drink and remember. I am excited to finally put her ashes in the place she loved the most, surrounded by her family.

Getting ready

This moment has been a year and a half in the making. March represent Sue. Her birthday was the first day of the Month, March 1st. We used to all joke that it wasn't just Sue's birthday, it was her birthday month. She was always looking for reasons to bring all her friends and family together to celebrate anything, but most importantly her. It seems only appropriate that we pick this time of year to take her ashes, to her favorite place and celebrate her life. I am looking forward to spending time relaxing, sharing the company of my loved ones and finding closure to her life and death. She is missed.

I'm glad you're getting to do that Janene, I hope it brings everyone closer to her and each other.
