The trip that almost didn't happen
This day started soooo slow. I woke up around 10, after being in a "coma" for 8 hours. It was blowing storm outside, and I didn't hear nothing... talk about being totally out of it. HAHAHA.
As usual I checked my computer for messages etc., before hitting the shower. What a delight that was... feeling refreshed again. :o)
After getting dressed and stuff, Mike and I headed over to Alands place for some...ummm.. breakfast. For me it was more like breakfast, luch, dinner and supper all in one meal. A fat T-bone steak and lots of rise... I so could not finish that steak. lol... but thanks Aland, you're a great cook. :o)
While eating we were talking about either going to Heidelberg or Luxembourg, but the weather was lousy with rain and wind, so Aland didn't wanna go anywhere actually. But I honestly got so dissapointed, because I had been looking forward to going to Luxembourg for a week. So yeah, we ended up going after all. A little late in the day, but still...
We got to Luxembourg around 5pm. First we wanted to go see the American Military cemetary, but unfortunately it was closed. Like most of Luxembourg are on a Sunday. Just a few restaurants have open on Sundays, so there were not much to do, except for walking around the city center. Thankfully the rain was gone and there were no wind, so it was quite nice to be outdoor. Well, I though so anyway, I can't speak for the others...lol
After walking the streets of city center, we went to a place called URBAN. It's a bar and has 3 floors. First floor is the main bar, second floor was kinda small, but then the bar area was closed and the 3rd floor was mainly for private parties.
We sat at the second floor, and what was cool about that, is that they have this glasscounter so to speak, where you can look straight down to the behind the bar at the first floor.
As we were about to leave and were walking down the stairs and slip and fell. Luckily I only hurt my elbow a bit. I was worried I was going to hurt my neck even more then it already is. Yay.. so hurting my elbow was just..well.. basically nothing. LOL....
We went from URBAN and back to the parking garage, and started on our way back. We meant to go to Neunkirchen and to a Hooters for some chicken wings, but what we didn't know typing the name into the GPS, that there are 5 different Neunkirchen in Germany... hahaha.. what a bummer. We went pretty far in the wrong direction, before figuring out it had to be something wrong. When finding it out, we decided just to go back to K-town.
But despite the few mishaps, I think it was a great day... I loved Luxmbourg, and I will most definately go back one day. I would like to be there for a day or two during spring or summer, and really get a feel of the city. Even in early March at 5-6pm, with a tiny little rain in the air, it was wonderful.
