----------- 1) TOPKAPI PALACE(TOPKAPI SARAYI) ----------

Topkapi Palace is one of my best destinations in istanbul, u will live history, architecture and scenery inside ;) lets give some brief information about it.
Topkapi Palace(Topkapı Sarayı)
Topkapi Palace is Home of the Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years, Topkapi Sarayi ("Palace of the Cannon Gate") was the seraglio, the heart of the vast Ottoman Empire ruled by the monarch who lived in Topkapi's hundreds of rooms with hundreds of concubines, children, and white and black servants. Because Topkapi is No. 1 on everyone's list of Istanbul sights, get there when it opens (usually 9 am; closed Tuesday) and go straight to the Harem, which can only be seen by guided tour, and the tours fill up early. After the Harem tour you can stroll the palace's spacious grounds and four courtyards at your leisure.Don't miss the Treasury in the 3rd courtyard, with its incredible gems, gold, and works of art.

Ok, if you read this you can start to read our second destination ;)

---------------- 2) Sultan Ahmet III Fountain ------------------

Today we can see two beutiful fountains which are too close to our first point, one of them is Sultan Ahmet III Fountain and its near Topkapı palace.
Sultan Ahmet III Fountain and me

Ahmet Han (III) Fountain

Founder : Sultan Ahmet III

Location : In front of the Imperial Gate of Topkapı Palace
Type : Four face freestanding fountain with sebil.

3th destination is Hagia Sophia, keep on reading ;)

------------ 3) Hagia Sophia(Aya Sofya) -------------

Hagia Sophia is a former basilica, later mosque, now a museum in istanbul.

Hagia Sophia
Famous in particular for its massive dome, it is considered the epitome of Byzantine architecture. It was the largest cathedral in the world for nearly a thousand years, until the completion of the Medieval Seville Cathedral in 1520.The current building was originally constructed as a church between 532 and 537. The Church contained a large collection of holy relics and featured, among other things, a 50 foot (15 m) silver iconostatis. In 1453, ıstanbul was conquered by the Ottoman Empire and Sultan Mehmet II (Fatih Sultan Mehmet) ordered the building to be converted into a mosque. The bells, altar, iconostasis, and sacrificial vessels were removed, and many of the mosaics were eventually plastered over. The Islamic features  - such as the mihrab,  the minbar,  and the four minarets outside - were added over the course of its history under the Ottomans.
Yerebatan Sarnıcı(Basilica Cistern)
It remained as a mosque until 1935, when it was converted into a museum by the secular Republic of Turkey.

--------- 4) Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan) ------------

The Basilica Cistern ,also known as the "Sunken Palace", was constructed by Justinian in 532 to supply the Byzantine Palace primarily. It fell out of use with the Turkish conquest and is the largest of all Istanbul's ancient cisterns. The cistern was restored in 1980's and today walkways have been constructed right through the cistern and subdued illumination lends the place a suitably mysterious athmosphere.

Basilica Cistern;

Yerebatan Caddesi, Sultanahmet

Open daily except Mondays , 09:00-18:00

( October to March : 09:00-17:00 )

--------------- 5) German Fountain -----------------

The German Fountain ( turkish: Alman Çeşmesi) is a gazebo styled fountain in the northern end of old hippodrome (Sultanahmet Square), Istanbul, Turkey and across from the Mausoleum of Sultan Ahmed I.
German Fountain, a guide is explaining sth that i dont know, and seller is waiting them :D, im waiting the right moment too, :D
It was constructed to commemorate the second anniversary of German Emperors visit to Istanbul in 1898.  It was built in Germany, then transported piece by piece and assembled in its current site in 1900 The fountain's octagonal dome has eight marble columns, and dome's interior is covered with golden mosaics.... German Fountain constructed on the site where there was a tree which is known as Vakvak Tree (Turkish: Vakvak Ağacı) or The Bloody Kanlı Plane (Turkish: Kanlı Çınar).

------ 6) Blue Mosque(Sultan Ahmet Camii) -------

The Blue Mosque is one of the most prominent landmarks of Istanbul, especially when viewed from the First Hill or from the Asian shore of the Sea of Marmara. It is very impressive with its beautiful domes and semidomes, nice courtyards and six slender minarets.
Blue Mosque interrior, gorgeous
The Blue Mosque was founded by Sultan Ahmet I. He ordered Architect Mehmed Aga to begin constuction in 1609 and the whole complex was completed in 1616. The location of the mosque is just opposite of the splendid Church of Hagia Sophia as it is trying to compete with it. That is actually true because Architect Mehmed wanted to construct a bigger dome then Hagia Sophia's but he could not succeed. Instead, he made the mosque splendid by the perfect proportion of domes and semidomes as well as the splendid minarets.

------------7) Obelisk (Dikilitaş)--------------

The Obelisk of Theodosius. The center of the Hippodrome has a number of monuments. The Hippodrome has been the location of more than its share of riots, revolutions, large scale slaughter, and that sort of thing.
Dikilitaş(obelisk of Theodosius)
Watch your back. The Obelisk was carved in about 1500 BC, erected in Egypt, stolen by Emperor Theodosius in 390, and subsequently erected here. Look as though they had been worked by artists whose experience had been confined to the production of small-scale sculptures. The last examples of Roman carving are reliefs on the base of an obelisk of Theodosius in the Hippodrome at Constantinople, where the Emperor and members of his court, ranged in rigid, hieratic poses, watch the shows. Few original portions are extant of the spiral.

--------- 8) Streets & Arch. buildings ---------

Hmm i dont know you can see some coast streets or narrow streets around. its up to you, use your instincts ;)

-----9) Turkish Bath(Cağaloğlu Hamamı)------

Have you ever been in a Turkish Bath?

If you haven't, you've missed one of life's great experiences and never been clean! Ours was built by a sultan more than 300 years ago.
Turkish Bath,
Although the date of the construction and the name of the architect of the hamam is not known. It is said to have been built in the beginning of the 18th. century. It is also Said that construction is one of Sinan's works of art. These double baths in which only the changing-rooms have been changed since 1969-1971 now consist of two parts, one of women and the other for men in a 2834 sq.m area. King Edward John VIII, Kaiser Wilhelm, Franz Liszt and Florance Nightingale have all been here for a royal experience. Besides today's well known personalities King Fahd, Rockefeller, Tony Curtis, Richard Harrison came to Cagaloglu Hamami during their visit to Istanbul. In this excellent three hundred year old Turkish bathing temple one hundred and thirtyeight TV films have been shot. Six of them were productions for German TV. Seven of them were Thematic Films (Indiana Jones) and one of them a commercial for visa card. The world press has written about the wonderful arthitecture many time.
Turkish Bath,
Four times in the New York Times and Three Times in the pages of Geo. The press has much praised this bathing maabit...
