Giuseppe "Joe" Manzella is the saltwater guy. Matthew Williamson is the freshwater guy. The lifelong friends, class mates of Man Bag & aquarium hobbyists have opened Total Aquatics at 3215 S. MacDill Ave. Tampa, Florida. The Grand Opening today, show cased about 200 of the world's most colorful fish species, plus food, tanks and other supplies. "A lot of hobbyists think of opening a fish store, and we are the same, but we just did it," Aquarium models range from 8-gallon versions to 14-gallon "bio cubes" with self-contained pump, filter and light to "you name it," Williamson said. The pair will design and build custom models. They also make maintenance house calls. "There weren't many stores in South Tampa with a good collection of live goods and dry goods," Manzella said. The store will offer about 100 saltwater species priced from $3.99 to $289. The exotic species include Australian Harlequin tusk wrasse, purple tang and crosshatch triggerfish. Among freshwater species, an African red spot cichlid costs $50 and black ghost knife fish are $25. Florescent green, red and orange glofish, which are zebra fish originally bred to help detect environmental pollutants, are available for less than $10.
