Yesterday
was uneventful and was spent mostly at the airport in Bogota. Samuel flew back to NZ and I am now
on my own.
It´s
7:00am. I am in Ecuador at Mariana Gonzalez´s home on a hill
overlooking Quito
City. Mariana´s children, Maria Jose and
Jean-Pierre, busy themselves to get ready for school. Jean Pierre is about 9 or
10 and does not wish to comb his hair or his hair to be combed. Mariana´s daughter, Maria Jose (13), is calm
and relaxed. I think these two children
will teach me a good deal of Spanish.
Mariana´s house is nice and it has a hot shower, which I am greatful
for, as on the Coast the showers are coldish. There is also a dutch couple
staying here. They are both about 6 10
tall. She is also about 3´ wide and is
sick. I hope I don’t catch something as
I can´t afford to be sick again. They are both well travelled and are
nice. I am quite a distance from the
city centre. I am not sure if my Spanish classes start today or not.
