Leaving Nevada
Monday was a sad day...I had to leave this incredible place and incredible TB friends behind. On a high note, Melanie and I met up with Sal (sincitytraveler) for lunch at the Florida Cafe inside the Howard Johnson's hotel on the strip. This was a Cuban restaurant and the food was very tasty. The three of us had a really good chat as we ate, discussing our future travel plans and when we would all get together again. Of course, Mel and Sal both live in Vegas, so it's a lot easier for them to meet up on just a whim.
Sal is an Osteopathic Doctor and it just so happens that I live about 20 minutes from the birthplace of osteopathy medicine...or as Sal calls it, the Mecca of Osteopathy. TravBuddy enables us to make this huge blue marble of ours just a little bit smaller, doesn't it? Mel and Sal were also discussing a variety of short travel options in the area, like camping in the Grand Canyon, and I was thinking, "Okay, I'm gonna have to move to Vegas!".
Our dinner was over and it was time to part ways...gosh, that went quick. Sal bought our lunch, so we owe him one:)We said our goodbyes to Sal and then Melanie took me back to get my car at the hotel. I had some time to kill before catching my flight, and so Melanie and Sal had suggested I visit Lake Las Vegas, a resort community outside of Vegas. Mel and I said our farewells and I was off to Lake Las Vegas. I actually got a late start and by the time I arrived I had to turn right around and get the car back to the rental company. While I waited at McCarran airport for my flight you would never guess what I did....spent my time on the laptop with TravBuddy. I also recruited a guy sitting next to me. In fact, he signed up with travbuddy right there as we talked.
I hope you will welcome him. His name is Travis, but friends call him Trav...how cool is that??? Trav owns an airline business and flies frequently back and forth from Europe. This is his link http://www.travbuddy.com/hollandaeroI was going to get a photo at the restaurant, but forgot my camera....now that's a SIN! So the waitress took our pic with Melanie's camera. Maybe she'll let me get that one from her*hint*
