08 Vegas Meetup
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but this circumstance calls for us to bend the rules...just a little:) So here's a few photos to get it started......
This was such a great TB meetup, and blogs and photos simply can't do it justice. If you haven't been to one, just do it.
The party on Saturday started out when Melanie, Will, Angel, Tracy and I had dinner at a sushi/Japanese restaurant. It had been a while since I last used chop sticks and ate raw fish but it all turned out good. The sushi was delicious and if you want more details, Melanie has or is doing a review on the restaurant. From there Will and I went to the Lucky bar at the Red Rock casino to save a spot for the group while the girls went home to get prettied up.
TravBuddies began showing up shortly after 7, along with a few guests. We decided that that these meetups prove to be good recruiting events. One person, who wasn't even in our party, began asking about who we were. He even ended up taking our group picture for us. He said he would check out the site, too. And, incidently, he happened to be from my home state of Missouri.
There were some no-shows, so we didn't have as many as we expected, but with the guests there were probably around 20 people. It was so cool meeting people who I had only seen pictures of, and everyone was just as super as their profiles said they were. (haha). There were several tbers from Vegas, and most of the others were from California.
After visiting for probably three hours or more, we then went to another place in the casino called the Cherry where they do a lot of dancing. We ended up out on the dance floor for probably another three hours. It was 2 or 2:30 by the time we left. Most of the group left by this time except for Melanie, Tracy, Angel, Julz, Tuyen, and me. We went to a restaurant in the casino, had some food, and went home at 4 a.m.
