Margie and Nick waiting for a tram
We arrived in Hong Kong on Sunday evening of 30th March at 9.15pm after a 8 hour and 45 minute flight with Virgin Atlantic from Sydney. Our limo then took us to our hotel, although we were worried if they would fit all our luggage in the car, and arrived at the Island Pacific Hotel. After checking we went to our room but were a little disappointed at the size of the room, especially as there were three of us, and were even more disappointed with how hard our beds were. After a bit of an uncomfortable nights sleep we all woke around 7.30am on Monday morning and then headed down to the restaurant for breakfast which was a delightful selection of a hot and cold buffet which we all enjoyed. Once we had all over indulged in the lovely breakfast we headed out to catch a tram to Central
where we caught the peak tram up to Victoria Peak
but unfortunately it was a dreary day and because of the fog we did not get to see the wonderful views that you usually get. From here we got a taxi and headed over the other side of the island to Stanley Market where we bought various presents and a little lunch, well not so little as Dean had a hamburger with chips, Margie had beer-battered fish and chips (which we polished off in no time), and I had a club sandwich and chips. Later on we then got another taxi back to our hotels to rest our tired legs.
