Last Day in Bali
One more adventure here in Bali, and then it's time to head out. We all met at the pool at 7am for some tea, and then it was off for some snorkeling in the Bali Sea. We rode out from the beach on an outrigger boat called a "jukung" -- my boat mate was Courtney. We were accompanied by a pod of dolphins. Love those friendly escorts! We saw lots of colorful fish -- French Angels, Parrot Fish, Pipe Fish, and even some Manta Rays. The coral here was really beautiful -- brain coral, finger coral and lots of other types that I am not familiar with enough to identify. It was all over too quickly though, and time to head back in for final packing, check out and farewells.
I did my last breakfast with our trip leaders, Jo and Courtney -- and Erika joined us as well. I bade my farewells to the group, and it was off to Denpasar and the airport. I rode with Anom, along with Ted and KC. Turned out that Ted, Jody and Francoise were all on my flight to Hong Kong. The others are taking other airlines. I did find a beautiful wooden carving of a Komodo Dragon to add to my treasure collection that morning, and also got a beautiful pen and ink drawing from Wayan Narta, our local guide.
The flight was on Cathay Pacific on a Boeing 777. We got in about 30 minutes early -- so a little over 4 hours in flight time. Not a bad flight at all!
