My trip to the Philippines, hopefully of many more to come

Manila oh Manila...

How can you love and hate a place at the same time? Someone told me about Manila - either U love it or leave it..

I didnt like the traffic chaos and also disorganized developments in Manila and its outskirts, but when you look deeper you will see the politeness and kindness of the people, warmly welcoming you to their city and their homes there that would melt your heart and make you fall in love with the place, even if its not as pretty as Makati..

I didnt get to do much sightseeing, but I did get to do some shopping, of my fave past-time. With the biggest mall in South East Asia, I'm sold!

Food is great here too, but of course the best for me is my bf's mum's adobo, fried bangus, and afritada with buttered garlic rice..

- Gateway
my first stop in Manila - lunch at Dencio's, had pancit canton and my first taste of bangus, masarap!!! dessert was Krispy Kreme donuts.
.

- Mall of Asia,
Biggest mall in SEA, great shopping and I was especially excited that my fave brand of clothings are a lot cheaper here than in Malaysia.. I cut short my shopping cause then everyone would have to wait long for me..
I had a fight with my bf here and we both stormed in the opposite direction, I ended up getting lost and had to call his sisters to find me, only after wrongly re-dialled Kuya Ted's no..
I found my way to Hooters though, where we had dinner with entertainment of dance routines from the waitresses, they had to do few encores, but had to stop cause there was no one to serve food anymore..
The mall is located by the bay, has a nice boulevard for a stroll, lined with restaurants, entertainments from performing bands, also carts selling hot snacks and cold drinks.. There is also a tram that takes you from one end to the other..

- Megamall
Just passed by and was where we took the bus back to Clark for my flight back, maybe next time.
.

- Glorietta
Shopping, had my first taste of Jollibee - tastes as same as the name, yummm; Coffee at Figaro, souvenir at Hard Rock Cafe and drinks at Friday's

- Eastwood
We had dinner here and dessert of cakes from Jack's Loft. Its pretty here, the place reminds me of the mall near my place (The Curve), lots of al fresco dining places..

- SM Marikina, Robinson's
Shopping mall near our place, lunch at Max's - famous for its fried chicken and I especially loved the ube dessert..
Watched movie at Robinson's and shop for pasalubong (gifts) at
Goldilocks bakeshop, and of course for me too as I really like it, my bf always brings back pulvaron, caramel popcorn and ensaymada for me whenever he goes back to his hometown..

You are so adorable! Awesome to see that you're learning the language. Looks like you only saw the malls and not the other sites? Weird but not unusual since "malling" is very Filipino! Looks like that characteristic of ours is rubbing off on you then? =) You & your bf take care, ok? :)
