So we got up at ridiculous o'clock for a Saturday at 6:30am! We had to be up to go into Manchester to then get a train to Stoke-on-Trent to then get a bus to go to Alton Towers theme park! We met Paul (Alex's friend from work) at Piccadilly station in Manchester and then we got on the train. I think we got to the theme park around 11 or 11:30?? I can't remember but oh well we were finally there!! It was soo awesome! We went on so many cool rides!! There is a theme park in Vancouver called Play Land which has some pretty cool rides but it is no where near the rides and the stuff that Alton Towers has.
The biggest hot dog ever!!
The first ride we went on was the Enterprise which spins around and then eventually goes upside down. What a good start to the day! Our legs were a bit wobbly though as this was the first of many for the day. The Enterprise was right by Oblivion which is a ride where it plumments down into the ground at a 90 degree angle so we got to see up close what we had to look forward to later in the day-yikes! After that we went on the Corckscrew I think and then we went on the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride. It was a boat ride kind of like in the book and movie except that it wasn't crazy or anything and then after you go into the glass elevator and all the pictures move around you so it makes you feel like you are flying all over the factory and then into the sky like the movie.
After the Ripsaw!
It was a childs ride but it was still pretty sweet! Then Alex and I went into this haunted house ride thing which I thought was really freaky and we were at the end of the line so I was so freaked out something was gonna get us. The ride at the end of the haunted house was so weird. We were just sitting on benchs with a bar against our lap but we were turning around going upside down and then staying upside down but it didn't feel like we were upside down or hanging...I don't get how it was done but it was a weird feeling but super cool. I'm starting not to remember the order of the rides anymore...I think after we went on Nemesis. Ahh I was so scared to go on this ride because it was crazy but it was sooo fun! I wanted to go on again right after. I think I was annoying Paul and Alex because every 2 seconds I was like omg i am so scared or excited or nervous or something and I just wouldn't shut up lol.
The Nemesis-look how crazy this ride is!
And then after Alex and I went on the Ripsaw. It is the exact same ride as Hell's Gate at Playland. At the one in Play Land it dips you down just until your about to get sprayed with water and then it flips you so you don't actually get wet but with the Ripsaw at Alton Towers it doesn't do that. It just dips you down right into the spraying water and we got soaked! Like soo wet! And then me being the nice person that I am gave Alex a huge hug so he got even wetter haha. Then we went on Air which was the coolest ride ever! You get all strapped in and then it moves so that you are facing the ground an parallel with it...then you fly through the sky and it flips you arond so you are on your back and facing up towards the sky at some points. It was totally awesome. The rides were in rows of 4 so there was me, Alex, and Paul and then the single beside me was this little girl.
The crazy ride!! I wish I would have filmed it the other way cause it's just not the same watching it with your head on a tilt!
I swear she must have only been 10 or so. I couldn't believe she was going on the ride alone, so brave! If I was her I would have never done that by myself! And then we went to Oblivion!!! Holy crap I was so scared for this ride. You go all the way up and then they hang you over the edge so you are looking straight down and then you drop and it is 90 degress and you are facing down. It was sooo freaky but so awesome. All the rides take pictures of you while you are on it and I managed to look directly at the camera and give the thumbs up with a huge smile. It's a sweet photo! I am gonna try and scan it at work and then put it in the blog. After that Alex and I went on one last ride that Paul didn't want to go on and then the park was almost closed and we had to get the bus to go back to Manchester and then to Bolton. We went to the hotel and just crashed onto the beds because we were so tired. We didn't end up moving for the rest of the night and just had another night in but it wasn't too bad. But today was such an awesome day and I had soo much fun!!
