At least it hit on a weekend this time.

So it snowed most of the day yesterday, and pretty much all of today. It came down until around 6:00 p.m. One report from a weatherman said just about 16 inches in 24 hours. That’s a lot of snow in a little time. Being in a country house kind of in the open and wind whipping straight across the fields, we’re completely drifted shut. Like, couldn’t get our cars out if we wanted to. Our only option would be to walk about 75 feet to the highway and have someone pick us up.
About 9:00 p.m., Dan got on the tractor. However, our little Ford wasn’t going to cut through all those drifts on the about quarter of a mile long lane. So I called a local guy to come help plow us out (Bookie runs a lawn service and plows out places in the winter.) He said he’d arrive about 7 a.m. the next morning. He was busy plowing out local business and churches for tomorrow morning.
So, Dan and I got enough meat out of the freezer for about 3 days, wrapped up warm, and watched movies. I got a load of laundry done and a little straightening up.
Having to set our clocks ahead an hour tonight, we went to bed a bit early (because it was SUCH a strenuous day).
