Happy Snapper (although I'm supposed to be working!)

The Cloisters at Glasgow University

I pretty much carry my camera and a little tripod around with me where ever I go, and especially if I'm out and about for work - I never know where I'll end up or what I might see!

The evening I took these shots, I was at Glasgow University's main campus in the city, covering the result of their rectorial election. In case anyone is interested (ahem!) Liberal Democrat MP (and former party leader) Charles Kennedy won, followed by human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar, then comedian and broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli and Green MSP Patrick Harvie.

I was on my way back to the office, trying to find my way through the warren of old buildings at the University when I noticed the effect of the domes, so I set up the little tripod (must have looked like an idiot kneeling on the ground!) and snapped away.

I myself didn't go to Glasgow Uni, I spent four years at the University of St Andrews in Fife, and 15 months at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, and there's a big rivalry between Strathclyde and Glasgow - so it was nice to see some of the buildings and architecture student at Glasgow may take for granted, because they're seeing it every day.
