Gates opened for the Soundwave Festival at Midday......so we caught a 10.50am train from Gosford to Sydney Terminal (a.k.a Central Station) and walked 288 metres to the other side of the station to catch a train to St. Peter's..... We met a very colourful group of gals on this short train trip out to Sydney Park - all of whom were a little under the weather already :) It was a short work across the road, until we hit the long line of people waiting in the hot sun to get into the festival. Our quartet and many others decided we'd take the scenic option and treck down the side of the line(through the bush) to get to the front...... It was far better than waiting half an hour in the sun :) When we eventually got in, we showed our tickets, received our bands and we were in and ready to rock :)
The first band we saw was Madina Lake on Stage 3 @ 1.
In the process of lining up for food we missed one of the best bands ever - City and Colour who were not supposed to play till 4pm but who kindly graced the stages at 3pm :( we were not happy at all).
After that ended we walked over to the main stages to watch Alexis On Fire, Motion City Soundtrack and Incubus.......of which the atmosphere was electric! And if you were game enough to stand during Incubus then rubbish was hurled from all directions :)! Quite entertaining between songs mind you....hehehe
The last band on our list to see was Saosin on Stage 3 @ 8.30pm, of which we only got to see two songs........ :( We walked quickly back to St. Peter's station for our 9pm train back to Central where we met some other funny people......Where the quotes of the day became Schweet.... & Word-G-Mun :) We again then walked to the other side of Central Station to catch the 9.15pm train back to the Central Coast....which turned out to be another colourful train trip with the Newcastle Jets beating the Central Coast Mariners 1-0 in the soccer......needless to say i was glad security was on the train, because fights broke out and alot of bantering was done......
All in all a top day out :)
