A roadtrip by camper from Chicago, IL to Las Vegas, NV

Route 66 memorabilia

Kingman

And today we have left Flagstaff, the city where we went to the first mall we've seen in ages! Weeks!
That has never happened to us before!

The first stop on the way to Kingman, AZ was Willams.
That's a cute little town which is preserved perfectly.
Of course, many picture taken there!

A bit later on our route we've passed through a little town called Seligman (pronounced like Slickman).
There was a building decorated with everything you can think of.
Mannequins in sixties outfits on the roof. Mannequins on the boot of a sixties car, ready for the tourists to make a picture with.
All around signs, licenseplates etc etc
A pretty busy sight to see.

When we got closer to Kingman, suddenly my dad stopped the camper.
It seemed we were at the famous Route 66 store at Hackberry.
This is a very tastefully decorated old gas station with a Route 66 store inside.
The inside of this store is a museum of its own.
In front of the gas station a '57 red Corvette convertible was parked. Nice!
Of course pictures are taken.
I've bought a cute tank top, a pair of socks and an ugly cheap souvenir for my desk at work.

Then we've arrived at Kingman, AZ and we ended up at the local KOA kamp ground.
