The Big Texan Steak House

This morning we left El Reno to drive to Texas!
Since Route 66 lies alongside I-40, we've decided to take the I-40 and take some exits to villages/towns and see what is there to see.

This way we ended up at Shamrock, TX where a lovely gas station in Art Nouveau style is located.
It's called The U-Drop Inn.

Also a village called McLean, where another cute little gas station is located.
It seems like all we can take pictures of are cute little gas stations!
The one in Alanreed didn't strike me that much, therefore I haven't taken a picture of that one.

The scenery which you see off of the I-40 isn't that interesting.
It's all grass, grass, grass as far as you can see.
An ocassional crack where a creek runs through, but that's it.
Eventhough we are at 3900 feet, I don't like the landscape, it's kind of depressing...

This evening we've had dinner at The Big Texan Steak Ranch.
We were picked up by a big white limo, with a longhorn on the hood.
How Texas can this be?
The atmosphere and the food is very good though.
Friendly service.

Tomorrow we will be leaving Texas again as we will be sleeping in New Mexico.
