Day 75: San José-Cartago-Parque Nacional Irazú-Orosi (2)
The drive back down was possibly even more impressive than the volcano itself. The lower parts of the volcano are covered in cloud forest, and we were still above the clouds. We stopped at one point to have a look at the sea of clouds below us. Very surreal.
And the views only got better after that. Orosi is situated in a long, fertile valley, surrounded by farmland and mountains.
The town itself wasn't as exciting as our guidebook had promised, but we found a great little hostel called Montaña Linda, where we had dinner together with two other Dutch guys, and ended up spending most most of the evening evening in a huge hot tub together with the Dutch owner.
Uhm... wait, that doesn't sound right... It was just guys sitting, talking and drinking beers in a tub filled with mineral rich water from a local hot spring. No honest! :-)
