Day 10: Guadalajara
The new Lord Of The Rings film premiered today, so it's not hard to guess where I spent the day. An air-conditioned cinema turned out to be a good remedy for a sunburnt face, neck and head, and I must say I felt a lot better when I walked out of the cinema.
In the evening I treated David and Miryam to dinner in a restaurant where I had also eaten twice during my previous trip to Mexico three and a half years ago: Copenhagen 77.
This is a great place with nightly live music by a resident jazz band with a terrific blind pianist. In the afternoon I had walked past the restaurant to make a reservation. I actually wanted to make a reservation for Sunday, but the owner told me they are closed Sundays, but that they would have a good live band tonight.
“the one with the blind pianist?” I asked
“No, he is dead...”
Ow... uhm... ok.
Besides the blind pianist there was another thing I remembered of this restaurant: the great Paella! Not very Mexican, but utterly delicious.
We had a great time eating and drinking too much wine, while the band played great music.
