My friend Lisa and I pilot a Cessna 210 up the coast of Chile, from Santiago to San Pedro de Atacama. Thanks to our pilot guides Jaime and Mario for help with translations, navigation ... and the landing gear!

There's a stench in Bahia Ingles.

Looks nice, but there's a dead whale somewhere nearby.
We got up at 7am to a bright, clear, and sunny day. Superb!

Met Jaime and Mario for breakfast as Leo slept in. It was so nice we could actually sit outside without help from North Face! It was not the best breakfast I have ever had: Tang, toast and cheese. And we couldn't eat much and look like piggies, since our friends hardly ate anything at all!

We then split up from the guys, and Lisa and I took a beach hike. Not long into it we encountered the foulest odor on earth: possible a combination of sour millk, dead fish, and decomposed whale? We scrambled as fast as possible off the beach and through the "back roads" of town. We found not much at all. Where do the residents of Bahia Ingles shop?

We then went back to the hotel to sit by the pool and guiltily eat more breakfast food.  Really, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Someone should tell Mario and Jaime that.
