Out on the town, kind of: Valparaiso, Chile.

Jaime met us at the airport, and oddly enough, Mario and Leo - our hosts for so many days -- were whisked off so quickly, we hardly had time to say goodbye! So strange! We had planned to go out together for Mario's birthday, but I guess that was not to be. Really, it was very odd that they left when they did.
Jaime, our host once again, took us in a taxt to our hotel Atkinson, a cute old Victorian house/ hotel. We loved the fluffy down comforters and the space heater, since it was blustery and cold outside. The wind was howling at the windows. We then met up with Jaime at 7:15 for dinner -- first to Hotel Brighton next door for Pisco Sours and a MASSIVE plate of antipasta. The elderly waiter (also the owner) was so attentive and cute -- he was delighted when we kissed him on the check for a photo!
Then off to Cafe Torri (?), a very modern afffair, and very nice. It was almost all seafood, but I managed to find a goat cheese salad (enormous!), while Lisa and Jaime had the local fish. It was a fun night of talk with Jaime... we told him about the formerly reserved Mario "breaking out" and dancing on the table last night. Mostly we talked about starting and running a business, since all three of us are lucky (and cursed, at times :^) to have had that experience. I really like Jaime, and am so impressed with the business he has built in the tough world of aviation. Great night.
It was happily a short walk back to our hotel and the wonderful, fluffy down comforters waiting there for us.
