After we have had breakfast we left the boat in Turku, we drive straight to the Russian border. The audit by the Customs is very strict. We need to left the bus one by one to get a stamp on our visa. After that we had to wait for a while until the papers and bus were checked. Altogether the border lasts 2 hours. But now we can really go. On to St. Petersburg!

First we met our guide in Vyborg, Olga. A Russian woman who studied Dutch. It is funny the way she talked in the Dutch language. Because of  her accent she was groaning after the end of each line. Haha! :D
When we arrived in St. Petersburg, there was some fireworks, today it was a public holiday in Russia. Our hotel, Moscow hotel, was very central. It was only a small hour walking to all the sights, so easy to do. We had read many bad reviews about this hotel but the service was perfect and we had a large, fine room with a view of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery and the frozen water. Really a perfect location. So after dinner we immediately went walking to the city to get a first impression. I did' t want to waste time because we were there for such a short time. Btw, the streets in St. Petersburg are the same as in Brussel/Belgium. The houses are beautiful and big. I already love this city.
