I got my bags and took the JR commuter rail special rapid service back to Osaka for my hotel (Granvia, in Osaka station…a little difficult to find, but the key is follow the signs for the JR Central Gates. Beware of the “business man’s room”…very small, but the bed was quite comfortable…once you get the “western” pillow from the closet…and the shower very refreshing. Be sure to take the elevators just outside the hotel entrance to the 27th floor observatory for a nice view of the city)
Dinner that night was at Fugetsu on Dotonbori. Had to try the Okonomiyaki…YUM! Went based on a TB review, and am I ever glad I did. Teaches me though that I need to write more reviews as it’s not always easy to find all the info buried in blogs…will get to them soon. Bed early…it’s been a long day!
Hotel Granvia Hotel
Note: Review is based on having a "business room", which in Japan means a small, cramped, but serviceable room. Free internet and a very comfortable bed. The staff was very helpful with all requests...very fast response. No breakfast included in the room rate ($110/night). Located in Osaka station, lobby is on floor 1, rooms on floor 21-26. Subway and multiple rail lines located just downstairs, and the Kita area of town right outside the doors. Airport Limo Bus stop very short walk from the lobby...at the airport in an hour for 1300 yen! The location is key...the bed was great...and internet was nice. The bathroom was small and cramped, and the room itself was small, but overall I was pleased.
