A beautiful island, Okinawa

I was dreaming about going to Okinawa for so long. I was trying to go there with friends but we couldn't get the same time off so I decided to go there by myself.  I could have gone there years ago but going to Seoul or China is way cheaper than going to Okinawa!!

I know it's weird that I've never flown anywhere Japan but this was my first time using a domestic line!! I thought it's small but I was surprised that it was the same size as I flew to Seoul, South Korea!!!  It was 2hr and 10mins flight from Nagoya to Naha, Okinawa. It was really warm in a plane so I took a nap for a while.  I heard Japanese airline's servise is great and yes, it was! They were too polite to us!! I felt like I had to be very polie to them! Well, they served only beverage and some snack though.

.  but it was ok, i guess.

Arrived in Naha. I was expecting a nice warm weather but it was cloudy and a bit chilly...  Took monorail to nearest hostel. I didn't realized how great the hostel location was until I got there. Of course I knew where it was because I was checking it but didn't know it was right next to the main street in Naha! But this main street is just too small.. only souvenir shops.. though i found a great cafe/restaurants there!!

The hostel was pretty bad! I stayed in 9 bunk beds room. This bed was the worst!! I thought I was sleeping on the street!! They had this extremely thin matress(or more like futon) and a tiny tiny pilow and a blanket. SO, I used blanket as futon.. it wasn't that cold at night so I was okay with it! Other than that, it was great.

It was only 1500yen per night, not so noisy and no bugs :P 

The next day, I rented a car and drove southern area to the middle area. When I started driving, it was raining and the road in Okinawa is very slippy so I had to drive very carefully.  First, I went to the beach called sunset beach. By the time I got there it was still raining and it was pretty hard! haha. So I just went shopping near the beach. About an hour later, rain stopped and the sun came out so I run to the beach. Of course no one was there. I wanted to come here in the evening beucase it's sunset beach! but I didn't have time for that.  The beach was nice, so relaxing!!  Then drove to down south. I didn't want to take high way but my car navigation told me to take high way all the time so i just ignored it :)   On the way down to south, I thought I could go to this cool bridge so I went.

Well, it's not so cool or anything but there is not that type of bridge in my town since we have no ocean in my town *0*  I stopped a car and saw a lovely view from the bridge. There was only me and other 1 family. It was very windy though!   And then drove to south where I wanted to go.  It took me about less than 2hours. It's called 'Okinawa Kinen Koen' . Where you can see what happened when they had a war in Okinawa. There were all the names who died by this war...   I wanted to go to other places but I had to give my car back by 8pm so I hurried to get back to city.  OMG!! The road in the city at this time was crazy busy!!!! You can't move!! I heard about it but it was just too busy!!! And I didn't fill the gas yet and couldn't find a gas staion!!!!! I was so worried about everything but it was fine. ahh.. don't want to drive in the city anymore especially rush hour.. horrible!!!!

On my third day in Naha, I rented a bike and just riding a bike for a while. Went to the beach where was in town and gross! haha!! It was hot day and I was tired so I went back to the hostel where I rented (not my hostel) and was tying to lock the bike, OH? for some reason I lost one of the key!!! I put it in the basket but now, it's gone. OOOOPS!! I told the lady that I lost it and she said it's fine but I thought I shoud pay for the new key but she still say I don't have to.. She almost pissed at me cuz I said I'll pay for a several times! She was like 'Ok, stop it or I'll get really angry' Oh, then I better stop and leave immediately so I did :P

At night I decided to go to a beauty salon cuz my hair was messy and needed a treatment.

I just picked one of the salon. Oh no.. this place was bad.. this treatment smelled funny and noisy and.. I just didn't like it!!

Ok, the beauty salon was bad, the hostel isn't good enough, but the food here is great!! ahhh.. I just couldn't stop eating. I gained lots by this trip lol!! Okinawa has their own great local food such as soki-soba, taco rice, pig head, etc.. ;P  Beautiful beaches and great food made me wana come back again. I couldn't go up north this time so I have to come back and drive to the north. I heard there are lots of lovely beaches and things to do.  I realized that I think I like traveling here with alone isn't fun. I'll bring someone next time!! Though my 4 days in Okinawa was so relaxing :D
