Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

Osaka Travel Blog › entry 2 of 3 › view all entries

I thought I've prepared myself for the winter holiday in Japan for 13 days but turned out I am totally unprepared for it. For first 2 days, I was lost in Kyobashi and Osaka station. Plus I took the wrong train and waited at the wrong platform. There was one time I wanted to ask for direction and trying to make an eye contact but nobody stops. In the end, I asked an Australian instead who happened to walked by. :P But it's all part of the trip that i did not regretted...

Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

It was snowing on that day and first time ever in many years that snows that much... I was pretty excited at first but not too long as it was sooooooo cold. I was planning to go Osaka aquarium kaiyukan on that day and got pretty clear instruction from my friend on how to go and where to get the ticket. My friend told me I can get a-day pass to the aquarium plus train for 2500 Yen at Kyobashi subway station. Once I reached at the station, i was searching this station masters office for almost 1 hour and couldn't find it and in end I have asked the officer there and he pointed to the JR station ticket. So I have lined up and told him what I want..and he said there no such package. Instead  I have to buy seperately for the aquarium pass (2000 yen) and Morinomiya train ticket. Thats fine with me as I don't know how to explain to him as he said there no such thing. From Kyobashi, I will need to change to Morinomiya (2 stations away) and change to Chuo Subway Line that direct to Osakako (aquarium).  From the Osakako station, need to walk about 10 minutes and I have spent about 2 hours in the aquarium. The most impressive was the big shark whale and I liked the colourful jellyfishes..

It was alright but bit pricey though....
