At Witch's Point we see a Hawksbill Turtle ( I just LOVE turtles. So does Steve. When he sees one, he gets excited, uses up all is air, and it means we have a shorter dive!). Despite the turtle excitement, Steve and I both notice a general lack of schooling fish, lackluster coral, and we are a frankly little disappointed in the dive overall.
On the next dive, a fellow diver (Ann) immediately spots a prehistoric-looking Flying Gurnard. Excellent! I also see a spotted eel snake, a new one for me.
Back on dry land, we stroll into town for a treat at the local Starbucks knockoff, Rituals Coffee. I just might write to Starbucks to suggest a peanut butter flavored Frappucino -- it's a taste treat! We enjoy our drinks and the dramatic sky on the waterfront.
In the evening, we dine at La Robe Creole. The frequent exclamations of delight that come from Steve indicate he is pretty happy with his Creole Octopus Casserole, and I am just as pleased with my vegetarian plate of beans, rice, and delicious broccolini. The price is high by Dominican standards, but this place is highly recommended!
