Indianapolis will host the NFL Super Bowl on Sunday February 5, 2012. When this was announced some years ago, it seemed like forever, and yet now it is here.
The New England Patriots will play the New York Giants.
They have many venues set up downtown, which they are calling the "Super Bowl Village". They have made it very fan friendly and it is also a great alternative to actually paying the $3000 to go to the game.
We went down on an unseasonably warm night to see what was going on. It was very crowded and had a lot of stuff to do, including a zipline ride for $10. The wait for the zipline was 2 hours so we did not wait to ride it.
I think all is going well for the Super Bowl here in Indianapolis and so they should be able to host another one in the future!
Well.....it's all over and the players and fans have mostly headed for home. I am very proud of what this city did in hosting the 2012 Super Bowl.
Congratulations to both teams, and especially the champion New York Giants, who won the game by a score of 21 to 17.
I have already heard talks of Indy submitting a bid to host the 2017 Super Bowl.
