i'm struggling a bit with the overnight buses... not through any fault of their own i let you know. they are bloody luxurious in argentina. massive leather nearly fully reclining seats, films, a guy going round serving food and drinks. actually i think they're too comfortable for me and i can't sleep at all.
as a result the day after an overnighter which should be a normal day is spent with a few hours in bed. and that's actually not been a bad thing because it is pissing it down here in salta, big time. the city feels less manic than cordoba and there are some beautiful churches here. our hotel (another flashpack but this time as cheap as the hostels) is in this really old colonial building right on the main plaza. we've again spent the afternoon getting soaked and wandering around. the nice waiter guy in the cafe gave us free orange juice and croissants with our coffee too. must be the way i say por favor...
it's a bit strange because we'll be leaving argentina permanently after tomorrow. although we've been out into chile about three times coming back here almost feels a bit like coming home. i'm going to be sad to go but also excited at bolivia. although it seems like it's going to take a bit more organising than we have done here. the border crossing alone seems a bit dodgy but hopefully will be ok. our last long journey on the comfortable argentinian buses awaits us tomorrow.
