Gudvangen
October 24, 2007
An early train from Bergen central station (it was still very dark outside) brought me to the city of Voss. No time to see the Voss Folk museum nor the monuments of the musiciens and artists likeSivle ans Bergslien, for the Nutshell bus was already waiting near the station of Voss. The nutshell bus enters a beautifull maintain scenery and normally goes to the Stalheim hotel, where it stops for the Stalheim Gorge. Unfortunately the hairpin descent was closed after September, so we drove directly to Gudvangen. This village is situated at the end of the Næróyfjord, which is one of Norways narrowest fjords. This was the start of the "most dramatic fjord cruise" of West Europe. It stretches north to the Sognefjord and back south into the Aurlandfjord until its end at Flåm.
