Full day in Paradise

Another day in paradise. Michelle took advantage of a morning jungle treck the hotel organized, and really loved it. Saw a lot of monkeys. Spent the day swimming and walking and reading.
The Shangri-La Golden Sands has a great system all around their pools and grounds; little plastic red flags on metal rods. It seems that no matter where you are, there is one close to you. Whenever you want something, you need only to raise this red flag, and it will lock into place that way; and shortly thereafter, someone that works for the hotel will come right over to check on what you need. Who could ask for more than that? We all agreed we needed one of those at home!!! Unfortunately, we knew that no one at home would care if we raised our red flag either.
For the rest of the trip, we used the expression "raise the red flag of service!" and it meant we were going to do something nice for the other two - buy everyone cokes when the others looked hot, find and push a luggage cart at an airport, whatever. We use it to this day whenever we travel.
That night, we went to the Italian Restaurant, and low and behold, who should arrive but the British blokes from the train ride from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur! We pulled our tables together, and closed out the restaurant. Then we left the hotel, crossed the street, and went to a little local bar. The bartender was really funny - trying to do little magic tricks to impress us. It was a great time, and we stayed into the wee hours.
