The moon and its reflection over Lake Michigan
All throughout college I think I took the Lake for granted. I lived less than a half a block away from what I now deem as the greatest and most beautiful part of Chicago
. So I was lucky to have a friend invite me to come sit by the Lake on Monday night. This again is something that I haven't done since maybe my freshman year of college, if ever. At first I was a little freaked out because it was pitch black. I don't recommend doing what I did (walking by yourself through the park to the Lake) especially if you're a girl. So I was trying to meet my friends who were sitting by the Lake by the recreation center near Montrose Harbor and Golf Course. I tried to get exact directions to where they were sitting but the problem was they didn't really know where they were.
The Moon's reflection over Lake Michigan
So I wondered past the recreation center, in pitch black night mind you...and alone, past the golf course (where they said they were) and wound up next to a wall that I couldn't quite climb over. I was totally confused and scared. There were many raccoons wandering around in the bushes and literally there were no lights or people around. Finally I decided to walk around the recreation center the other way and found where my friends were sitting. With my heart pounding what felt like a million times per minute, it took me about 15 minutes to fully relax and realize what a gorgeous view was in front of me. The pictures I'm sharing are pictures of the moon and its reflection over Lake Michigan. I felt I needed to tell this story because the view was even prettier to me because I was so scared and it took me so long to get there. I should go sit by the Lake more often...
