Cubana Airlines and its Onboard Sauna

Air Asia had a great sale .. I just couldn't help myself and make a bulk booking of seven tickets for myself! Some fares were virtually free (just pay the fuel surcharge and the airport tax). Then waderlust kicks in and I extend the trip.
Speed (in relative terms) but not comfort
You may have heard of Emirates’ inflight showers for their premium customers on their Airbus A380. Cubana goes one step further with their Antonov 24 aircraft with onboard sauna! That’s not all ... everyone gets it free!

We flew their Antonov 24 from Havana to Camaguey, a 1:30 flight. It was a very old plane and didn’t have airvents or apparently functioning air-conditioning. On the ground and for the first 20 minutes of the flight it was like a sauna. Everyone was wet.
Fortunately, we were treated with an ice-cold soft drink and a lolly later. The old Russian plane is amongst the quietest I’ve flown on ... ever!

All their staff were generally pleasant but not necessarily competent. We made an online booking which was paid for on credit card. We were advised by email to collect the ticket from the city office ... but were told by the city office to collect at the airport ... at the airport we were told it had been ticketed electronically and simply check-in ... then finally we were written paper tickets. Perhaps the original tickets are still sitting in the city office uncollected.
Underneath this funky paintwork
Like this one in a conservative
Interior of the sauna.
