Provincetown and back to Boston
August 12, 2006
Got up early (I mean, like 5AM) to ride the bikes a short distance to the jetty on the northwest side to watch the sunrise this morning. WOW! I miss being on the coast so much. And the cool weather on the Cape made it that much more enjoyable. Watching the sunrise where I grew up you'd be swatting misquitoes big enough to carry away your first-born child and sweating your balls off, not wearing a sweatshirt and drinking warm coffee like we were in Ptown.
Afterward, rode the bikes back to The Land's End Inn where we had spent the night (actually only about 4 hours) for a fantastic breakfast of fresh fruit and muffins, cereals, and fresh squeezed juices. Grabbed a quick nap and headed out to the beaches in the north end. After a rather long walk (and feet exfoliated enough to last the remainder of the year) we reached the beach over the dunes, had lunch and layed out. Great weather, kinda cool and breezy, but just warm enough to lay out in the sun.
On the way back, the tide had already come back in so we had to make our way back in water up to our waist in some places. After a short ride back to our friend's house across from the Land's End Inn, we showered and got ready to catch the ferry back to Boston around 1900. MUCH smoother ride this time around - the water was like riding on glass.
