A Slow Down Day

I'm getting used to visiting the beach in the morning! There must be something about the sound of the waves and sand between my toes that wakes me up in the morning! I don't spend long, just enough to breathe deep and put my brain in gear!
On schedule for today is a luncheon at our niece and nephew's home. Besides the great company and wonderful food, she has a camera lens to die for! She allowed me to attach it to my camera and set the tripod out on the patio. Their backyard is a wildlife wonderland! Deer and small critter abound! The many bird feeders and bird baths allow the natives to put on a show! My favorite surprise of the day? - The osprey eating his lunch high up in one of the tall trees! Snapping away, I got upclose pictures of him dining on his fish! Her lens and my curiosity led to many pictures! I've shared a few in this blog.
After spending most of the afternoon enjoying the hospitality of family, we decided on one last visit to the beach. The water was cold, but the hale and hearty jumped in. My nephew tried his hand (or feet) at skim boarding. From the pictures, you can see his first attempts and pretty successful at that! We chased the sand crabs, walk up and down the beach, and finally watched a beautiful sunset! Wonderful - start your day on the beach, and end it with a sunset on the beach!
It will be flying back home tomorrow! We've all had a great time in the Virginia Beach "Hilton." As always, we pack a lot of activities, sights, and memories in a little time! But it is all worth the time!
