Snoqualmie Falls, up top to the left is the Salish Lodge & Spa

Where to begin? Lets start with my friend Erin (poohstanggt) coming into town, and while she was here she wanted to see some local area sights. One of the things she wanted to see was the Snoqualmie falls. I heard this and said cool, I have some ideas - we can do stuff in Snoqualmie and the neighboring town of North Bend. We headed up Hwy 18 which is a cool shortcut to I-90 if your coming from the south end of the puget sound = tacoma/auburn/federal way/etc. Hwy 18 starts/ends in Federal Way and Snoqualmie.

We come under I-90 at the end of Hwy 18 and round the corner into the "new" snoqualmie area. There is a new housing developement that has a restaurant & shopping area adjasent to the housing area. We drove thru to scout(look for) some places to eat for later in the afternoon/evening.  After that we decided to head down towards the falls which is just a  few miles away.

On the way to the falls we stop at a shop called "Premium Cigar and Wine" to take a peek. Cool little shop, it has wines and a few types of other alcoholic beverages for sale as well as a walk-in humidor for those cigar lovers. It also has some other misc. fun items as well. I purchased a few things including a see-thru liqour flask gift set(for me:) and a couple inexpensive wine openers for when i take wine to gatherings(thus if I forget it I am not out $20)  and i also got a cool (cobalt blue colored) bottle of SAKE.

After this we made our way to the falls.

The Snoqualmie Falls is located right by the road, and the observation platform and viewing areas are just a few hundred feet from the parking lot. Next to the falls is the Salish Lodge and Spa which is a very nice place , where people can get away for relaxation wether it be for anniverseries or honeymoons, and they don't have to travel far to do it. They have a good spa ($$) and nice rooms with a great view.  We took some pics of the falls(i have seen the inside of the resort before) and we headed down to see old snoqualmie and then in to North Bend. Along the way to North Bend we see some cool old trains and a very old chunk of tree from the old logging and early settlement days of the Northwest.

We then continue on to the North Bend Outlet mall and see another cool pic opportunity along the way(see "got rice" photo).

The Factory Stores At North Bend,  is an outdoor mall where the parking is in the center of the outter retail  buildings(buildings form sort of a circle). Erin was very excited to learn that they had a coach store(for guys like me with no clue = its a purse store) and bought herself a little "blue" treat. I bought a few things in the Nike store including some shoes(yay). We also checked out a few other places including the skechers store(my fav. shoes). Then we were feeling hungry so we headed back to Snoqualmie to grab some grub(food).

We Headed back towards the newer part of Snoqualmie and decided to try a place called Finaghty's Irish Pub and Restaurant to have a couple of beers and see what the menu looked like(Erin loves Irish pubs, which is good for me , cuz this place was cool).

Finaghty's
We found out it was happy hour and that there were beer specials and half price appetizers, so we were sold especially after seeing some interesting items on the menu and nice beer choices as well. Erin was happy like a giddy lil school girl when she learned they had Schmittwicks on tap! She ordered and drank beer after beer til we basically had to help her to the car!  Ha Ha just kidding, Erin is reading this and saying "darn that shane and his fake stories" lol. (reality) Erin had a couple beers and I responsibly had 1 Belgian Blue Moon import beer(first time trying it - not bad). We ordered atleast 4 different appetizers and the food was very good. Now I here the other food choices close by have good food as well, but the combination of the food, drinks and the people were just great at Finaghty's. Thanks to everyone there for putting up with us, we had a great time and I hope they let me come back sometime soon! :)

Please take a look at the Finaghty's review below to see more info and pictures of the food :)
Please also look for in the coming days, 2 additional journals and food reviews for Erin's visit. As well as Erins reviews and journals if you like. They should be posted very soon!
