Kaolack
October 3, 2006
After the exertions
in the mosque in Touba we first took a bath at the hotel pool. One of us had
the idea to play cards IN the pool. That was fun! The whole time we had to pay
attention not to drop the cards.
Nearby
Kaolack we visited the groundnut factory SONACOS. It was interesting to see how
they convert the groundnuts into oil. The conditions of employment were bad. Partly
they had to work in a room with ammoniac inside. We just walked through but
that smelled evil. The black smoke on the picture is a result of the burn of
the shell of the groundnuts.

The stay at this hotel was agreeable. All rooms were air-conditioned. We had two bed rooms en suite. The rooms were very nice and big. The hotel owns a nice pool and an open-air bar. We enjoyed the time in the pool very much because we had the idea to play cards in there (have a look on the pics). ;)
The hotel had a small restaurant where we ate, the food was good. After dinner we took a small schnapps on the bar. Unfortunately I can't tell you how much the rooms cost. We had to pay an all-inclusive price for the complete excursion.
