VEGAS TRAVBUDDY MEET UP 2008

SUSHI FIX AT SUSHI MON

THE DAY IS FINALLY IS HERE................

However, we all went to have sushi at sushi mon (SEE REVIEW) minus julz(mzjulz85), she went to hoover dam. However, I plan to pick her up before the TB MEET. I hope she had a good time in hoover dam and took the $11 tour.

I hope james likes sushi. This is an all-you-can eat of an hour sushi bar. It is known for its 50 unique rolls. i asked James if he eats "real sushi", meaning eating the raw fish not only the cooked sushi. We all meet up at sushi mon at 4pm. James again was on time. I asked James to save us 5 seats.

Will was running late, it’s traffic on sahara. As we were waiting we ordered eel, yellow tail, spider roll, spicy tuna, salmon roe and uni with raw quail egg to offset the saltiness. I dared James to try the eel and yellow tail. I liked it. He did not spit it out LOL. We had an hour to grub and be back before 6pm to get ready. I asked Will and James to reserve the spot in the lucky bar. Will knows which spot, since I showed it to him a week ago. I owed them a drink for that. THEY ARE THE BEST……

It was about 6:45pm when we left the house. i still need to pick up julz. I did not have to stress about not having a spot. I called julz that we are on our way. Are we ready to PARTY……

On the way to pick up julz, a milestone has happened; my 1990 camry has hit 200,000 miles.

We picked up julz, we were singing in the car, singing to black crows. It was cold but, liquor will warm us up. We were running late. I hope the TBs will recognized James or will. We did not arrive til 7:15pm. I hope no one left before we got there.

As we entered the lucky bar, I saw Erin (poohstanggt) instantly; she was the first person I hugged. I started to introduce myself and shook hands with Scott, Erin’s man, Erin’s future TBs buds, matt, Michelle(gemmi05), and Lisa (lisabrook21) from vegas. I huge hug from my wing buddy, john (jpchoi), my first travbuddy, Heinz (jdax57), and his friend, Raymond.

I whipped out my attendance sheet and “HELLO MY NAME IS ______” stickers. I asked everybody to sign their first name near their screen name and grab a sharpie to write down their names and screen names.

I sat down next to Heinz and Raymond. We were catching up and reminding me that we need to go to the “gun shop”. Heinz was giving me crap that we have not done that yet. I was like “HELLOOOOOO YOU HAVE BEEN ON DEPLOYMENT AND I HAVE BEEN BUSY TRAVELING”. I bought Heinz and james a shot of grey goose. All 3 of us took a shot of grey goose together. “TO MY FIRST TRAVBUDDY, HEINZ” and “ALWAYS PROMPT, JAMES”.

After 30mins, RJ (rj1982ster) and his friend, Amy I think?!!? They were in the other side of the lucky bar. They were about to leave then decided to walk on the other side. I am glad they did. RJ is such a nice, friendly, and outgoing guy.

I did not talk to him as much but, we will soon hang out and pig out together. RJ and his friend did not stay long. They went to see a movie afterwards. However, it was a pleasure to meet them both.

Let the digi cam wars start……the music was bumping at the lucky bar. We were having a good time. We were all laughing and talking up a storm. I was not even buzzed after that one shot. I ate so much sushi that It will take me more that 4 shots to get my all f-ed up.

All of us were rotating to talk to everybody. I have not see or talk to john in ages. I have been to VA to AZ to LA for the past 3 months. He has lost track where I have been. John and I IM each other on MSN messager. John is a great guy. He is such a FOODIE. Unfortunately, he will be moving Korea in may-ish. I know I have a place to stay if I go to Korea…John watch out LOL.

At about 9pm, Sal (sincitytraveler) showed up.

I instantly spotted him. How can you miss the big smile and salt and pepper hair LOL. I jumped up and gave him a hug and told him glad that he could make it. I announced to everybody that this is Sal from vegas. We all end up standing up in the corner which was weird. I guess after I wanted to do a “VEGAS PEEPS GROUP” photo we all just stayed standing. Sal is very warm, easy to get along and great sense of humor. Sal, James and I plan to have lunch on Monday before james’ flight back to MO. Sal is also a “FOODIE” like me.

There are 7 VEGAS PEEPS…….there was supposed to be more…….YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE?!?!?!! LOL no worries I planning a VEGAS TB CAMPING TRIP in the fall. TB CALI’S also want to plan a TB CAMPING TRIP. We will keep you updated……

Erin’s friends are awesome, they are foodies like me. I just could not believe they have not been to some local spots I did reviews on.

We exchanged numbers to go hang out and pig out together.

The music was pumping at the lucky bar. Angel jumped on top of the seats and started dancing. We all took pictures of her. Then it was my turn to dance. However, I was dancing to long that security told me to step down. HAHAHAHA. I think Erin has photos of that.

Then Tracy decided to do a shot of patron. James and I joined her . I had my grey goose and james his jose cuevro EEEEEEEEEEEEEW HAHAHHAHA. All 3 of us swigged it. Hmmmmmmmm I was still not buzzed. That was 3…..

The night was young. Erin and I went to the restroom together. On the way back there was a girl passing out “cherry” dance club passes. Ladies are always free; however, the guys are half off. I asked the group if you all want to go clubbing. Unfortunately, Sal has to work early, Raymond had other plans, john has to work early and Will doesn’t dance, however, he wanted to play poker.

And there were 10…..as we got to cherry. I look down at Heinz’s feet and he had sneakers on. I said uh oh. I think this will a problem. Like what Erin said “SOMEBODY DID NOT READ MELANIE’S POST”. Typical military attitude thinks you are important where ever they go HAHAHAHAHA. Kidding Heinz LOL. Well, Heinz bullied his way in LOL. It was still early; no one goes to the club before 11pm. We all just hung out outside. The red rock pool was awesome. We just took more photos and drank some more. I actually just wanted water. Heinz got me a glass of water from the bar.

Then it was getting cold. We all went inside to warm up and kick the light fantastic. There was a few people dancing but who cares. We jumped in and started dance. We danced all night. We would take 1hr breaks to breathe.

Then, at about 12am.

I get a txt from Tuyen (tuyent99) from Boston. She just arrived. I told her I will meet her in the front of cherry. I found her immediately; we gave each other a hug. She had a smooth trip. I bought her to meet the group. That we all went outside to chat with Tuyen for a bit. However, it was freaking cold. Some of us were passing out…..HAHAHAHA hmmmmm who could that be!??!?!!?!

Then Heinz, Erin, Scott, Michelle, and Lisa left. Heinz had a project to do. Erin and Scott had to drive back to LA. I forgot Michelle and Lisa reason HAHAHAHA.

And then there were 5……WOW we danced til 2am. However, I am feet were getting tired. The DJ sucks towards the end. I left the 4 to sit down outside and buried myself with pillows to keep me warm. There were a couple of girls sitting next to me that felt the same way. We chatted til I could not stand being outside.

Cherry does not close until 4am. However, we were all hungry. It is typical clubbing ritual to do after a long evening of partying and grinding on the dance floor. i txted Will if he wanted to come. i could not believe he was still playing poker. then again he was up til 11:30am saturday morning from MGM playing poker when we left him. Will is pretty much a basketcase LOL. I suggested to go to my favorite spot after clubbing, it is in downtown vegas at the California hotel. However, we had drama finding James’s car that we just ate at the grand café in red rock. It was 24hrs and it started to get busy when we got there.

James, tracy, angel, julz, and i all ordered omelet’s and chatted with Tuyen. She was in town for her friend’s wedding. I offered her to crash at my house until her friends arrived. Oh my gosh it was 4am. We were all so tired. Especially, we all planning to go hiking at red rock canyon national park in the afternoon, I think I was on crack when I suggested that.
