Sea Kayaking and Storms in the Ambergris Caye
Another relaxing day today. The clouds are still dark overhead, but the weather is quite warm. We find that the Condo has arranged sea kayaking and snorkeling at a site called Mexican Rocks.
We have the activities director with us and some other couples join in on the fun. I have never been kayaking before so I am excited to try it. Janene was my kayak partner and we decide it will be fun to race the other boats out to Mexican Rocks. Unfortunatly, I find out that I am a terrible kayaker. Damn! We lose the race.
When we arrive at the site, we tie up the kayaks and jump in. The water is pretty warm so it feels really nice. It was fun to go out snorkeling, and we saw some fish and got an upclose look at the beautiful coral. It was a little murky out there, due to the recent storms, but it was still very beautiful.
We relax for the rest of the day, lounge around the pool and see a storm coming in. We duck into our condo just in time to take some pictures of the dark clouds over the ocean. So much for going into town tonight!
Instead, we entertain each other by playing "name that tune" on our IPODs. Seriously, I think Jon and Kara are from a different era, as they had a really tough time with this game. Janene and I are totally into it and try to stump each other. (Yes, Janene, I KNOW The Who...) We all head off to bed early as the rain pelts the deck of our condo.
