We picked up a car again at the airport. The parking costs at the hotel are 15 Euro a day, but in front of the hotel parking is free between 08pm and 08am. After that is metered parking at a low rate of around 80 cents and hour. Most of the day we'll be on the road anyway, so the parking is not going to run our bill sky high.
Whenever you are in Lisbon, you really have to visit THE pastry shop : Pasteis de Belem. Here you can eat the best Pasteis de natas!! It's close to the Tour de Belem, the tower of Belem. Also in this area you can find the Jeronimos Monastery, where the remains of Vasco de Gama are kept in his tomb. It's very impressive. Outside through the park towards the waterfront, is the large monument to Vasco de Gama.
Lisbon has many good spots for dinner. Try to avoid the Baixa and head up to Barro Alto. A lot of small restaurants, with some amazing good food with even more amazing prices (7 - 11 Euro for a maindish). We also went to the Doca de Sao Amaro, which is nearly under the bridge. Here you can find some good seafood restaurants. They are bit touristic, but the food is again amazing.
