Our 2007 Summer trip to the sun. After weeks of rain and dark cloud weather in the Netherlands, sunshine is what the doctor prescribed. Our trip is from Amsterdam to Alicante via Madrid. Then a short one hour trip to our resort in Murcia where we stayed for 7 days. Then back to Madrid from Alicante, one night stay in Madrid. And on to Lisbon for 4 days. From Lisbon it's back to Amsterdam.

Historic Cartagena

Today we did a visit to the historic city of Cartagena. This small city has been an importent naval port all the way back from the Roman times until present time. It is still an operating naval base.

We took a stroll to the top of a castle in the middle of the city. From here you have fantastic views all over town. You can see the remains from a Roman theatre, a collusium, and much more.

We stroll back down and take a boat excursion out to the Mediterranean Sea. It's an hour and a half and gives us some needed sea breeze, because it is a hot day today!!

We eat our lunch, which looked very scary but tasted very good!! And headed back to the beaches of La Manga for some more sun tanning!
