And the World Cup begins....

Schloss Schonnenbraun

People i met here who contributed to, and improved my trip: Chris (Denmark), Tyler (American)

Well technically speaking it began the day before but this was Englands first game ;) A 1-0 win over Paraguay and an American guy called Tylers birthday set up the night perfectly. If anyone is heading to Vienna make sure to check out the Chelsea bar, its a whole load of fun! Dancing the night away until 5am whilst taking shots of Strobh and Tequila with a Danish guy called Chris and Tyler the American. This was my first real 'session' since setting out and boy did i feel it the next day!

Vienna itself is a beautiful city and has something to see round every corner. I spent my days taking in the Rathaus, Hofburg, Schloss Schonbrunn, Stephansdom, the Museum Quarters and many more historically and architecturally fascinating sites. Its definately somewhere you could spend a long period of time.... but unfortunately a little too expensive when adding in a few nights out!

I can also recommend a late night stroll through the streets, preferably around 2am through the week. By this time most people are in bed and the lack of people and well lit buildings really makes for an enjoyable walk. Whats even better, is you can do this with a beer and bratwurst in your hand, bought from any of the late night kiosks, and its all legal!
