People i met here who contributed to, and improved my trip: Julia (Russia), Jameel, Ahmed, Anas, Mouthana, Mohamed (Syria), Jan (Germany), Allen (Serbia), Dmitri and Anastasia (Russia)

We made it back to Aleppo just in time to attend a concert performed by members of the Red Crescent, which is an aid organisation similar to the Red Cross. Jameel is a member of this and one of his friends was playing the violin, so he was keen for us to go and support him. I am really pleased that we did, as the traditional Syrian Music was really captivating, although we didn't stay for the second act, which was vocal and far less appealing.

After leaving the concert hall we went to a restaurant that served up traditional Aleppean cuisine, in a beautifully restored building. Jameel recommended that we try the kebab in cherry sauce and a kebab that was stuffed with mushrooms and vegetables, both of which were delicious. When we arrived there had been 12 of us, and this number increased over the evening as several other Syrian couchsurfers joined us including Alfonso, Jamal and Yahya and also a Romanian couple who were on their holidays.

It was becoming a fun, yet hectic period, with so many new people to meet and so many things to see. Therefore we decided to call it a day shortly after midnight, as we had another early start planned for the following day, and caught a taxi home with Yahya.

Whaaaat ? The food alone sounds absolutely yummy !
I thought their only entertainment was burning effigies of the US presidents and firing AK 47s wildly all over. Sheesh, I thought the TV was the almighty truth.
