Stuck at the border

People i met here, who contributed to and improved my trip: Juliana (Russia), Barbara (Austria), Manuel (Austria)

We arrived in Chiang Khong, Thailand, just before the border closed, but ended up disappointed that there were no night buses to Bangkok. We bumped into a group of other travellers who we went out for a drink with. One Dutch guy called Bart had lost his Laos exit card and they made him pay $90 for a new one! Completely outrageous. To make his day worse the bus he'd paid for to take him to Chiang Mai didn't exist. We caught the 7am bus the following day for the 13 hour journey south.
