People i met here who contributed to, and improved my trip: Portia (USA), Ann (Taiwan)

Ann dropped me off at my guesthouse in Taipei around 2.30pm and i was pretty shattered, so decided that a power nap was in order. A few hours later and i was once again refreshed and on my way out to meet Portia and Ann for Dinner. I had scheduled 6.30pm at Shuanglian MTS tube station, but wasn't too sure at which exit i should wait. I therefore arrived a little early and was pleased to spot only one exit. After sitting facing the door for some time, i began to doubt that this could really be the only exit and it would have been very unlike Portia to be late. As i turned around to look over the road, i got a shock to see some mad woman stood on top of a bollard, only to realise the giant was no other than Portia! There had actually been 2 exits and i just hadn't spotted the other one!

Our destination was a restaurant situated on the 11th floor of a very nice shopping complex, which specialised in Shanghai style cuisine, which is where Portia's blood line can be traced back to.

Steamed salty pork ham with lotus seed and honey sauce on a bed of toast
Having eaten some wonderful Ilan cuisine earlier in the day, i was really looking forward to trying out my next culinary delight! I was certainly not disappointed, as we were served up some outstanding food, which looked as good as it tasted. Our dishes included: Steamed Duck with magic sauce - Shanghai style, Braised Curican with spring onion, Deep fried kidney bean with dried shrimp, Steamed classico mini dumplings with minced pork, Steamed dumplings with minced pork and crab roe and meat, Pan fried scallion pancake, Steamed salty pork ham with lotus seed and honey and Mashed pork in jelly. I think the Curican, Duck, Crab dumplings and Ham were my favourites, although all of them were very good.

The night was filled with good conversation, as well as good food and it was a real pleasure to be enjoying the evening courtesy of travbuddy.

Portia, Deats and Ann, look how tall i am!
Think, if i'd never met Eric, i'd never have joined this site and i'd never have written this blog, or met such wonderful people through doing so. Its strange how things work out....

The 3 of us rolled our way out of the elevator and as if we hadn't already had enough, Portia and I decided to get some pretty fantastic ice creams for dessert! Portia went for the strawberry option, while i worked my way down one that had brownie with chocolate chip in. Thankfully it wasn't far to walk to the MTS and drag myself home to bed, concluding what had been a fantastic evening and a fantastic day.
