Sunset at White Beach

People i met here, who contributed to and improved my trip: Julia (Russia), Hannes (Sweden), Rocky (USA), Gaz (England), Alex (England), Simon (England)

Saturday morning was a hazy experience, but we eventually made it on to the beach and down to the dive shop to hang out with the guys there. I didn't really have any plans to go diving but Rocky twisted my arm when he said i could dive for free with the exception of the tank of air - what a legend! We therefore went back down to the wreck dive, although this time there was around 5 other divers. We had some minor problems when we arrived on site only to realise that one of the divers hadn't checked his equipment properly, so we had to return to shore and get him some new gear.

Once in the water, we descended to 25m and had some great visibility.

We encountered some really beautiful fish once again, with a really large trumpet fish and lion fish probably being my favourites. We had a swim inside the ship once again and came across some schools hiding in the dark depths. After spending 20 minutes looking around the ship, we swam out over a small ledge and touched 35m, which was the deepest that i had ever been. It would have been cool to try and get deeper, but unfortunately the other guy diving in our group of 3 (with Rocky and I) was pretty inept. We surfaced and once again saw the resident batfish, before it was time to jump aboard and head back to the mainland.

We met up with Hannes for an evening meal at a nice German restaurant, before going back down to the diveshop for a beer. Later in the evening we went to a really cool bar that was called the Tree House - i think you can work out the theme for yourselves! We sat around on the cushions, drinking beer, eating chicken and chatting about not a lot until the early hours, when it was finally time for bed.

I decided to stay out of the water on Sunday and Julia, Hannes and I hung out on the beautiful White Beach. We played some Ludo, did some sun bathing and generally did a lot of nothing. We sat on the beach to watch the amazing sunset, which i'd rate as one of the best i've seen, before settling in to the diveshop for a few customary beers. Rocky, Gaz, Julia and I ended up in some bar that was themed around a pirate ship, i vaguely remember them promising to visit us in Russia - i've not forgotten boys!

Through the dive shop and also a guy that we had previously met in Manila. It varies greatly depending on the place as to who you meet of course - and its often coincidence that you get chatting with people more than anything :)

Hello Phil. Im wondering how youre able to meet backpackers wherever you go. I didnt meet a single backpacker in Boracay, just a bunch of friendly locals.
