Pyramids, Petra, Ephesus, Kremlin, Great Wall, Angkor, Bagan, Persepolis, Trans Siberian railway and fantastic travbuddys! Stolen bags, crowbar threats, 1 landmine explosion, bank robbery, 2 motorbike crashes, 2 bus crashes, pancreatis, erosion of the liver and kidneys, BUT im still here and telling my tale! Ruins at Iasos

People i met here who contributed to, and improved my trip: Eric and Dave (USA)

The seaside village of Kiyikislacik was located a 30 minute drive from Euromos and we managed to arrive 40 minutes before the sunset, which gave us just enough time to have a look around. Luckily enough there was once again no ticket collector to Iasos, so we saved ourselves another 8YTL ($5) each.

The ruins of Iasos were actually quite extended and included a well preserved Theatre, Agora, Bouleuterion, Gymnasium, Basilica and an impressively located Acropolis – Fortress.

Having picked our way through the ruins of the Cities lower level, we climbed up a hill to the fortress. From here there were super views over two small harbours located below. A Turkish flag situated on the fortress walls fluttered in the wind, as we circumnavigated the structure.

Leaving the ruins of Iasos we stopped off at the Museum, which was unfortunately closed. On the plus side we were still able to peer through the railings at the monumental Roman Tomb and didn't have to pay the 8YTL ($5) entrance fee, once again. Exiting Kiyikislacik it was my turn to take the wheel and i drove us back to Bodrum. We briefly stopped along the way to look at the moon and a star, which somewhat resembled those depicted on the Turkish flag. It had been a fantastic way to end 2008, although technically we still had a few hours left.
